Indiana Geological and Water Survey advising state on recovering critical minerals

Dr. Todd Thompson, director of the IGWS, was invited by Indiana Secretary of Energy and Natural Resources Suzanne Jaworowski to serve on Indiana’s Rare Earth Recovery Council. Dr. Maria Mastalerz, senior research scientist, presented to the council in Indianapolis on Nov. 13, explaining the occurrence of rare earth elements (REE) and critical minerals (CM) in Indiana’s geologic material, mined and unmined.
