Hoosiers Connect

Hoosiers Connect is a group mentoring program designed for full-time faculty who are new to the Indiana University Bloomington community. Beginning a new faculty position is both exciting and challenging. Hoosiers Connect offers an opportunity to build meaningful connections with colleagues who are also new to campus, share experiences, and develop relationships that can enrich your professional and personal experience at IU for years to come.

The program begins with a welcome event and continues with four small-group gatherings in September, October, and November. Each group is facilitated by a current IUB faculty member and brings together new faculty from across disciplines in an informal and welcoming setting. These conversations provide a chance to get to know one another, exchange ideas, ask questions, and begin building a supportive community across campus.

Many faculty tell us that one of the most valuable parts of their first years at IU is the network of colleagues they meet along the way. Hoosiers Connect is designed to help foster those connections early and create a sense of belonging within the broader Bloomington community.
