Faculty researchers at Indiana University are advancing human health through the development of novel methods and devices. Recent patents awarded for IU discoveries in the past two months from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office include a device that repairs rib fractures, a treatment for radiation exposure, and a long-noncoding RNA that protects the heart against pathological hypertrophy.

Indiana University Bloomington will recommend the appointment of four faculty as Provost Professors and one faculty member as the Class of 1948 Herman B Wells Professor to the IU Board of Trustees. Both professorships represent a significant honor to faculty who have achieved distinction in research/creative activity and excellence in teaching.

Indiana University Bloomington has named recipients of the Tracy M. Sonneborn Award, Distinguished Faculty Research Award and Outstanding Junior Faculty Award. All three awards honor excellence in research and highlight faculty across campus who have dedicated themselves to expanding and transforming knowledge within their disciplines.
