Navigating IUB: New Faculty Guide

Navigating your HR benefits and more about how OVPFAA can support you

July 29, 2025

We at IUHR are excited to introduce you to the vibrant and dynamic community of Indiana University Bloomington! As a new colleague at our institution, we want to ensure you feel connected and supported from day one.

Getting started with HR benefits
Exploring the array of resources available to you is a great way to start. Our HR Benefits program offers a variety of health, wellness, and retirement options. Whether you are looking for comprehensive healthcare plans or financial planning tools, we have you covered.

Your mental well-being is just as important as your physical health, and we are committed to supporting you in this area. IU Bloomington offers a wealth of mental health resources through the IU Mental Health website, where you can find valuable information and support services tailored to your needs. From counseling and therapy to stress management workshops and mindfulness sessions, we provide tools to help you maintain a balanced and healthy mental state.

Employee resources at your fingertips
To access essential employee data, visit the Employee Center tab on One.IU. Here, you'll find everything you need, from payroll and tax information and benefit plan details to personal information and the IU org chart which can help you find individuals across the campus and the IU system.

Connecting with our community
The IU Today newsletter is your gateway to the latest news and stories at IU Bloomington. Through this newsletter, you can stay informed about university initiatives that impact your role, celebrate the accomplishments and accolades of your colleagues, and explore new experiences and opportunities available across campus. It’s a great way to feel connected and engaged with the vibrant community here.

As part of our commitment to fostering a healthy and balanced lifestyle, we encourage you to explore Healthy IU programming. From fitness classes and wellness workshops to nutrition counseling and mindfulness sessions, Healthy IU offers a wide range of activities to support your physical and mental well-being. You can find more information and get involved by visiting the Healthy IU website.

Stay informed
Stay tuned for more updates and exciting events happening around campus. We’re thrilled to have you with us and look forward to seeing all that you will contribute.
