Over the course of an academic career, faculty are likely to hold multiple positions of leadership, sometimes managing transition from one role to the next with little time for planning. This event in the Women in Leadership series features a panel of distinguished guests who have demonstrated leadership in diverse roles and who have successfully managed transitions from one leadership role to another. Each of the panelists will describe their current work and the path that led them to where they are now. The panelists will be invited to provide insight into how they prepared for their current role and how they ensured that they left their former position (and unit) in good order. Ample time will be left for questions and conversation.
Panelists will include:
Christiana Ochoa, Dean of Maurer Law School
Diana Dallis-Comentale, Ruth Lilly Dean of University Libraries and Associate Dean for Planning and Administration
Carrie Docherty, Interim Vice Provost for Strategy and Innovation
The Women in Leadership series provides opportunities for emerging leaders to explore various administrative roles and to engage with other campus leaders. We seek to provide support to those who are just beginning in administrative roles or who wish to learn more about possibilities on campus and beyond, and to provide community for those already in positions of leadership.
Each month we will host an event ranging from conversations with panelists currently in leadership, leadership development workshops, and conversations with Indiana University senior leadership. There will be plenty of time for conversation and interaction and this is a fantastic opportunity to develop a network of campus women leaders. All current and future leaders are most welcome!
