The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs has prepared this workshop designed for tenure-track faculty. It is ideal for those who are just completing their third or fourth year of the probationary period, but those in their fifth year are welcome too. The workshop will overview the tenure review process and cover topics such as preparing the tenure dossier, the eDossier system, external letters, and advice on writing research, teaching and service statements. Before the workshop you may also want to review the newly revised campus-level "Guidelines for Tenure and Promotion Reviews" which describe campus level expectations for research, teaching and service.
This workshop is also strongly encouraged for any department chairs or associate deans who have upcoming tenure cases if they have not attended in recent years. Members of school promotion and tenure review committees are also strongly encouraged to attend if they have not attended this workshop in the last 2-3 years.
Attendees are welcome to step in and out of the workshop as needed. Attendees will also be given access to written materials and workshop slides.
This workshop is designed to help both those who will be going through the tenure process and those who will be reviewing someone going through that process.
