The first part of this workshop will be dedicated to reviewing policies and best practices for tenure and promotion. In the second part we will give you some tools for identifying areas of strength and challenges in your units and discuss some strategies for addressing those.
Under the guidance of the Provost, this series of leadership workshops is designed to support department and program leaders and provide essential knowledge about campus policies and operations. Sessions will help prepare chairs and directors for questions that may arise and provide guidance on a variety of situations, including overseeing the tenure and promotion process, attracting, mentoring and retaining excellent faculty, using IU’s data resources, and employing strategic planning techniques over time to support students and foster research and creative activity.
