Gender and Pronouns (Introductory level)
Using correct pronouns for your colleagues and students is an important way of affirming their identity. It is essential for allies to understand the concept of gender and the use of pronouns. This module is for those who are just beginning to explore this topic.
Traps in Allyship (Intermediate level)
Have you been practicing allyship and experienced some frustrations because your intention to support the other did not yield the result that you expected? In this course, we explore common traps that undermine (gender) allyship and provide tips for how to navigate these traps. The outcome of this workshop is to foster our ability to better align intent and impact in allyship and to learn the skills to “step out of” traps. Specifically, we will introduce how to align motivations/mindsets, language, and behaviors to avoid the traps in allyship by sharing examples.
Better Allies & Co-conspirators (Advanced level)
This module helps you understand critical allyship for equity and discusses what it means to use one’s privilege. After completing it, you will be able to distinguish the differences between being an ally and a co-conspirator and understand how our intentions as co-conspirators can guide our daily lives to be more equity-conscious.
