Transforming Academic Culture: Understanding and Identifying Implicit Bias
The 9/26 workshop is best designed for those who identify as men*, whereas our 9/29 workshop is designed for all genders!
Explore bias and how to unpack it at this introductory workshop on bias and gender equity with the Advocates & Allies for Equity team.
Bias is a very influential (but not always easily understood) concept that intersects with every aspect of our lives, from our personal relationships to our professional behavior.
For those who don’t know much about bias or those who need a refresher, join the Advocates & Allies for Equity team for this introductory workshop on bias and how we can unpack it to become better allies for gender equity. Faculty, staff, and graduate students are welcome to attend!
*Additional information on the 9/26 workshop: This session is best designed for participants who identify as men; to encourage them to take greater responsibility for promoting gender equity. As the primary participants in this program, colleagues share and learn while holding each other accountable for growth, rather than relying on the additional labor of women who are normally forced to carry out this work. Led by and for individuals who are man-identifying, these sessions offer a supportive environment where men, often for the first time, can openly explore their questions and confusions related to diversity issues in their organizations.
