Cherríe Moraga, professor in the Department of English at the University of California, Santa Barbara will lecture during the week of September 12-15, 2022.
Author, playwright, director and longtime queer Chicana activist, Cherríe Moraga is co-founder and co-director of Las Maestras Center for Xicana Indigenous Thought, Art, and Social Praxis at UCSB. She is author and editor or co-editor of numerous books, including Native Country of the Heart: A Memoir (2020). Moraga famously collaborated with Gloria Anzaldúa in the 1980s to co-edit This Bridge Called My Back: Writings by Radical Women of Color, a volume that remains a central point of intellectual and affective reference in numerous fields.
