Seonmi Jin is a Ph.D. candidate in Higher Education and Student Affairs at Indiana University Bloomington. She has taught courses with the I Can Persist STEM initiative that aims to support female students of color majoring in STEM to explore ways to apply their knowledge in STEM disciplines to improve social/environmental justice. She has been invited to speak on improving gender equity in STEM and has published on the topics regarding DEIJ in faculty development and institutional research practices for equity. She has worked as a faculty developer in South Korea and is a co-leader for the faculty development track at the Assessment Institute. Integrating her background in international studies and global citizenship work, she currently focuses on research on creating a college environment that can empower minoritized women in STEM majors in the context of globalization.
