You are invited to attend a workshop designed specifically for department chairs in their 1st or 2nd year of the chair role. If you are a new chair, it is strongly recommend that you make time to attend the workshop as it is designed to provide information that will make your job easier. Chairs who have been in the role longer are welcome to attend for new updates to policies and a good overall refresher. The workshop will discuss topics such as the unique role (and challenges) of being a department chair, the mysteries of the APAR, and strategies for handling student complaints. We will also have a panel of experienced department chairs to provide advice and answer some of your questions. More experienced chairs are welcome too!
