- IU Bloomington
Bryan Hall 111
As the vice provost for faculty and academic affairs, Eliza’s main goal is to support the academic career of each faculty member on the Bloomington campus—including new faculty just arriving at IU, those facing tenure or promotion, faculty at mid-career seeking new direction, and those imagining retirement after decades of service.
Eliza is the Allen D. and Polly S. Grimshaw Professor of Sociology in the College of Arts and Sciences. As a sociologist, her research interests lie in the areas of the sociology of the life course, aging, health, work, gender, and social change. Prior to her role as VPFAA, Eliza was department chair in sociology, and served as editor for the Journal of Health and Social Behavior.
