Dr. Sanya Carley is a Paul H. O’Neill Professor in the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs and a co-director of the Energy Justice Lab. Her research focuses on energy justice and just transitions, electricity and transportation markets and policies, and public perceptions of energy infrastructure and technologies. Dr. Carley’s research and teaching have been recognized with several awards, including the David N. Kershaw Award in 2021, honored by the Association of Public Policy Analysis and Management, and the 2022 Indiana University Tracey M. Sonneborn Award. She received her Ph.D. in public policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, M.S. in urban and regional planning from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and bachelor’s degrees in economics and sustainable development from Swarthmore College.
